    30 Minute Preschool Classes

    Lil' Funky Freedom – (Fri. 3 y/o) This class is designed to promote self-expression through music, creative movement, dance and acting exercises. It strengthens a child’s trust in his/her own creative freedom and boosts their confidence. Various dance techniques are integrated in age appropriate ways so that children get a well-rounded and truly enjoyable dance experience. Diapers ok if caregiver stays on site. Teacher not able to assist with toileting needs.

    40 Minute TK/K Classes

    Funky Freedom – (Wed./Thurs. 4–6+ y/o or TK/K) This class is designed to promote self-expression through music, creative movement, dance and acting exercises. It strengthens a child’s trust in his/her own creative freedom and boosts their confidence. Various dance techniques are integrated in age appropriate ways so that children get a well-rounded and truly enjoyable dance experience. Teacher not able to assist with toileting needs.

    Tap & Jazz Combo (Wed. 4–6 y/o) A fun-filled class that exposes dancers to the foundational skills needed for both Tap and Jazz dance styles. Students will improve their understanding of rhythm, overall body control and spatial awareness. Dance games and exercises will promote individual self-expression and boost self-confidence. Even if a dancer has taken a year of classes, this may be a good fit.

    Ballet & Tap Combo (Thur. 4–6 y/o) Pack up your dance bag for this classic combo that mixes ballet and tap with plenty of dance games along the way. Dancers will practice rhythm, grace, shape-making and class etiquette while boosting their confidence and having fun! Even if a dancer has taken a year of classes, this may be a good fit.

    55 min Youth Classes - Grouped Below by Style

    WE'VE SIMPLIFIED OUR CLASS NAMES and PLEASE MAKE NOTE OF:

    • Beginning
    • Continuing
    • Experienced
    •  (faster-paced and focused - teacher placement)

    Recommendations: Classes are taught based on recommendations and the approximate age/grade for classes and the below is subjective based on experience, ability, and personality. Please sign up based on the suggested age, grade and experience level and we will make changes based on our professional opinion. Each class presents a great challenge and learning experience for everyone.  Whether they are a leader, or someone who likes to follow along, we set them up to feel accomplished and will challenge each student individually.

     

    **Hip Hop**

    Little Tykes Boys – (Fri. 6-7+ y/o or K/1st) This is a young BOYS ONLY class!  It will build self-expression and boost confidence. Using appropriate current Top 40 music, this class will inspire young dancers. This class is designed to promote self-expression through music, creative movement, dance and even acting exercises. It strengthens a child’s trust in his/her own creative freedom and boosts their confidence. 

    Boys Hip Hop – (Wed./Fri. Beg./Cont. 8–10+ or 2nd Grade+) Get poppin’, lockin’, glidin’ and freestylin’ in the BOYS ONLY class! There will be floor work, strength training and more. We want to continue breaking the myth that, “dancing is for girls.” Our goal is to build up their confidence, give them the ability to let go and encourage them to be themselves. We want them to show the world what they can do. (Athletic shoes required and knee pads are highly recommended.)

    Hip Hop – (Mon./Wed./Fri. Beg. 7–8+ y/o or 1st & 2nd Grade) This class builds self-expression and boosts confidence. Hip Hop is a lifestyle and this dance style is often misunderstood. Pumpin’ the tunes of appropriate current Top 40 music, this class will inspire young dancers. 

    Hip Hop – (Tue./Thur. Beg./Cont. 8-9+ y/o) The energy created in this class will keep dancers bouncing even after class. While encouraging self-expression, it will inspire dancers to be themselves in a positive atmosphere while learning awesome dance moves. It’s a confidence builder that both kids and parents will appreciate. 

    Hip Hop – (Mon./Fri. Cont./Older Beg. 9-11+ y/o) Get your groove on in this high energy class filled with fun and increased difficulty. It will motivate and create continued confidence in both dance and life. It encourages being yourself in a positive team playing atmosphere while doing the coolest dance moves with new and old friends.

    Hip Hop – (Mon./Thur. 11+ y/o) This class is for the ones that love Hip Hop, have to dance, and love to challenge and express themselves. It strengthens their passion and commitment to life and dance while Jamming to popular music. The energy is still high, the vibe is still positive, the moves more challenging and the class is even more fun. 

    Joy Crew Minis – (Thur. 8–10+ with ✰teacher approval) - Including all of the fun from all of our Hip Hop Classes, this one is for the less recreational and more committed dancers that want to be a part of a small dance crew choosing this class as a weekly priority. Placements for this class were filled based on last year's assessments. However, if a dancer was not placed in the class, the first few weeks of classes will be a chance for dancers to be considered for this NEW Crew.  All classes will have great energy and fun! However, class size is limited.

    Joy Crew Juniors – (Tue. 10-13+ with ✰teacher approval) - Including all of the fun from all of our Hip Hop Classes, this one is for the less recreational and more committed dancers that want to be a part of a small dance crew choosing this class as a weekly priority. Placements for this class were filled based on last year's assessments. However, if a dancer was not placed in the class, the first few weeks of classes will be a chance for dancers to be considered for this NEW Crew.  All classes will have great energy and fun! However, class size is limited. This class is co-ed!

    Hip Hop Swag – (Tue. 13+ y/o with ✰teacher approval) With familiar warm-ups, strength training and combinations of the coolest new and old school moves, this is a high intensity class. Some weeks will be street inspired, some will be fancy and fierce, and others will just be old school and flashback fun. This class is for the confident, dedicated and motivated.

    **COMBO CLASSES**

    Tap & Jazz Combo (Wed./Fri. 7–8+ y/o) An upbeat class that builds dancers' foundational skills in both Tap and Jazz dance styles. Dance games and exercises will promote individual self-expression and boost self-confidence. Appropriate for both new dancers and dancers in this age group who may have already been in dance.

    Ballet & Tap Combo (Mon. 6–7+ K/1st or Thur. 7–8+ y/o) Pack up your dance bag for this classic combo that mixes ballet and tap with plenty of dance games along the way. Dancers will practice rhythm, grace, shape-making and class etiquette while boosting their confidence and having fun! Older Thursday class will include a very short ballet barre. Appropriate for both new dancers and dancers in this age group who may have already been in dance.

    Break into Tap & Jazz (Mon. Beg. 9-11y/o 3rd-6th) Want to start dancing, but don’t want to be put in with the “little” kids? This class is for you! Designed for 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th graders who want to practice the foundational steps of tap and jazz before moving into more in-depth classes that spend one hour on each style. Explanations and exercises will be geared toward the memory and knowledge of students in the middle grade school ages.

    **TAP**

    Tap (Thur. Cont. 8–10+) This class is best for dancers with 2 or more years of tap experience and builds on basic technique. Dancers will continue to work on the basics and progress further with their ability by strengthening their foundation. Through familiar warm ups and previous knowledge, subtle differences will prove to challenge dancers and encourage them to face the next level. The goal is to progress further in understanding rhythm & timing.

    Tap (Mon. Experienced 9–12+ y/o) Having a good foundation and progressing through several consecutive tap classes will be when a dancer is ready for this class. There will be familiar warm-ups, “across the floor” exercises, and will focus on mastering trickier steps, creating new steps with familiar rhythms through improvisation and trickier combinations.

    Tap-Tastic – (Tue. 13+ y/o with ✰teacher approval) This class should consist of dancers who have mastered all the tap basics, can do any step on verbal command, and be able to handle some improvisation even if it’s uncomfortable. This class is for the confident who want more difficult combinations, intricate timing, enjoy performing and who simply love tap dancing.

    **BALLET / JAZZ / CONTEMPORARY**

    Ballet (Mon. Beg./Cont. 8–9 y/o) Love the way ballet makes you feel beautifully graceful, but don't love that stuffy ballet flavor? This class is for you! Imagination meets training in this class that builds a bridge between combo classes and a traditional ballet class with barre work. You might recognize a few show tunes at the barre! Steps and terminology will be taught at a faster rate to match 2nd-3rd graders, and there will still be time for fun!

    Jazz (Thur. Beg./Cont. 8–9+ y/o) High energy fun meet jazz hands as dancers sparkle to upbeat, clean world & pop hits from artists such as Michael & Janet Jackson, Shakira, and Zap Mama. Familiarity with basic steps from jazz, ballet or hip hop including chasses & step pivots recommended, but not required. Dancers will learn classic theatrical jazz steps used in many dance contexts including school musicals.

    Jazz (Wed. Cont. 8–10+ y/o) Add some more flair to your basic jazz skills. Students in this class have already mastered steps such as chasses, jazz squares, passé jumps and pas de burres, or are older and willing & able to catch up in a flash. Gain the strength, coordination and concentration needed to begin to pirouette and execute more intricate foot patterns.

    Jazz (Wed. Experienced 11+ y/o) This class is for the dancer who can't stop, won't stop, has got to dance! All the spice, sass and pop of jazz meets a more technique-focused class for dancers ready for more.

    Contemporary (Mon. Beg./Cont. 8-10 y/o) Charm, presence, force of personality, & strength of character. What is contemporary? A popular form, contemporary mixes the control of ballet with the expressive torso movements of modern dance. Make your presence known while we use floor work, fall & recovery, improvisation & more to build strength in body and character!

    Contemporary (Fri. Beg./Cont. 11+ y/o) A first or continuing contemporary class for middle school dancers with some dance experience. Floor work, fall & recovery, partnering, and improvisation will continue with an added emphasis on building strength for turns and greater control.

    Classes for Adults – Hip Hop & Tap

    Adult Hip Hop (Tue./Thur.) – Get your groove and cardio on in this high energy class filled with fun because adults deserve to have fun too. It will motivate and create positive space for you in your life.     Adult Tap Classics – (Discounts for 60+) You’re never fully dressed without a smile, and these classic tap steps never go out of style. Shuffle, shim-sham, and time step away because because adults (and seniors!) deserve to have fun too. All experience levels welcome.
