A 5-6-7-8…
Join, Joy in Motion co-founder, Ms. Linda, in a 4-week beginning jazz fundamentals short series. This series will be for beginning jazz dancers, and those with some experience who want to strength train and brush up on basics. You will be moving!! Most of each class will be spent on drills and exercises to build comfort and skill with fundamental jazz footwork, turns, and smaller jumps both in center and across the floor. The series will focus on repetitive practice of steps instead of memorization of choreography. At the end of each class, dancers will learn some of the famous Opener from A Chorus Line (slowed down)--a combination that is a rite of passage for every jazz dancer! Flat shoes with flexible soles recommended (jazz or ballet shoes or split sole dance sneakers). Barefoot or socks with grippy bottoms may also work.
