Join us for the first ever line dancing class which is open to all levels. The first hour will be designed for beginners and then we will step it up a notch the second hour. The goal is to prepare ourselves for the Bourbon Highway that same evening (not required). With beginner line dance lessons, we'll learn how to do basic steps like heel kicks, shuffle steps, coasters and other foot work, synchronized to choreography matched to classic country and new hot music. Gradually we will progress into improver level dances, not quite intermediate/advanced but definitely an opportunity to challenge yourself while having a great time with friends and making new ones.

TEACHING ARTIST - JOHNNY
As a freestyle dancer since childhood, Johnny has always found it enjoyable to mimic and retain the dance moves he saw on MTV. Introduced to country line dancing in 2016, he was able to pick up many of the dances on the fly as it felt quite natural to him. With so many line dances available to study and learn, Johnny kept improving his skills up until the beginning of 2023, when he started instructing at a local brewery.
His charismatic instruction makes him fun to be around and easy to follow along with. He is currently teaching at several locations from the Forrest Foothills, down throughout the Central Valley, and in the East Bay Area. He is thrilled to bring his talent to Joy in Motion (JiM) and excited to share his joy of dance because, to him and JiM, it is always a pleasure to see the happiness dance can bring.
